Industrial Skilled Laborers/Roustabout

Craftsmen Contractors is looking to hire Skilled Laborers/Roustabouts for the Memphis, Tennessee area. The job is at an industrial plant in downtown Memphis and consists of some fabrication work. You will also make a start at some millwright/mechanic type work. We are needing someone who is not afraid of work and who would like to learn some skills in this profession.

Pay is $20 - $24/hour depending on experience.

No per diem is offered for this job and this is a temp to permanent position for the right candidate.

Job Duties:

• Moving materials to the worksite and ensuring all tools, machinery, and other equipment are safely set up.
• Operating equipment like drills, pneumatic hammers, shovels, pikes, and other heavy machinery.
• Obeying health and safety codes
• Removing hazardous materials from sites.
• Perform some fabrication work
• Performing site and equipment inspections.
• Attending meetings and workshops.
• Acuqire some millwright mechanic skills through training
• Ensuring tasks are completed to deadlines.

Job Requirements:

• Sound knowledge of industrial and practical experience with tools.
• Have some basic hand tools and all PPE.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
• A good understanding of safety procedures.
• At least 2 years of Skilled Laborer or Roustabout experience preferably industrial.
• Great hand, eye, and foot coordination.
• Willingness to learn and be flexible.
• Interview face to face at the job site.
• Positive attitude and great interpersonal skills.
• Will need to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Must first do a face to face interview prior to hiring.
