Job Posting for Draftsman at CraneWerks, Inc.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Complete shop prints based on design/engineer’s system drawings
  • Revise existing drawings
  • Assist with generating material lists, packing lists, and equipment manuals
  • Work towards taking on projects from design approvals, final approvals to shop prints and as-built drawings of overhead cranes, lifting fixtures and other miscellaneous material handling items
  • Communicate with shop personnel and design team

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with AutoCAD 3D design software
  • Ability to work independently and creatively, with strong follow-through; to be proactive and intuitive to the team’s needs
  • Ability to read structural and mechanical drawings, engineering details, and part breakdowns preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Structural/mechanical aptitude required
  • Familiarity with structural shapes and welding symbols preferred

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree in Drafting required; allowances can be made if applicant is currently pursuing Associate’s Degree in Drafting
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with AutoCAD preferred

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
