CraneWorks, Inc has a direct hire opportunity for an A/P & Payroll Specialist. The objective of this role (based at the corporate headquarters in Olathe, KS) is to provide accounts payable and payroll support for company operations.
A/P & Payroll Specialist Essential Skills:

Payroll Specialist Roles & Responsibilities:
- Maintain database of personnel information and accurate payroll records.
- Conduct regularly scheduled audits of payroll records to ensure continued accuracy
- Prepare paychecks to ensure that employees are paid on time and in the correct amount.
- Cooperate with different departments to increase payroll service performance.
- Process data and review payroll provider tax returns and documents for accuracy.
- Collect, verify, and record employee attendance, including hours worked.
- Compute wages, commissions, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, including remittance of payroll taxes.
Accounts Payable Specialist Roles & Responsibilities:
- Managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs.
- Handling accounts payable for separate entities and vendors.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors.
- Ensuring bills and payroll are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
- Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges.
- Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts.
- Reviewing employee credit card statements and employee expense reports, accounting for receipts, general ledger coding of charges and ensuring company policy and procedures and being followed.
Education Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related financial field.
- Knowledge of payroll software tools, whether through college or separate training courses, is essential.
- Prior experience with credit card
- Paycor payroll software experience a plus.
