The Transportation Manager will play a critical role in our continued Supply Chain growth. With a network spanning multiple Distribution and Home Delivery Centers, we are in an exciting time of transformation. This role will continue to expand our capabilities while also providing enhanced transparency, insight, and accountability of our carriers.
- This is an on-site position based out of any one of our Distribution Centers (Cranbury, NJ, Newton, NC, Dallas, TX, Romeoville, IL, Naperville, IL or Tracy, CA)
- This role is an Individual Contributor position
A day in the life as a Transportation Manager
- Accountable for carrier performance, including setting service expectations, monitoring service and financial performance
- Assist in maintaining a Core Carrier Program; Negotiates Carrier Agreements, including terms and rate negotiations
- Execute annual request for proposal (RFP) for less than truckload, intermodal and truckload services
- Interview existing and new carriers for consideration for RFP, select carriers based on service, capacity, safety scores, geographic needs, lane fit and expense
- Own and distribute transportation and 3rd Party KPIs dashboards; making recommendations for improvement
- Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and operate with the Continuous Improvement mindset
What you’ll bring to the table…
- Excellent reading and writing language skills (English)
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple project
- Strong analytical skills, highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google platform programs
- Proficiency in 3rd party web-based platforms and Transportation software such as Cube Route, ITMS, AS400 etc

- 5 years experience of direct oversight of and responsibility for Transportation Operations and strategy
- 3 years experience managing performance and development of Transportation teams
- Experience negotiating and managing contracts
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
