Desired Job Experience
Hands-on facilities design experience, demonstrate 5 to 10 years.
Desired Degree
Accreditation Board for Engineers and Technology (ABET) accredited degree in an electrical engineering program from a college or university earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.
Previous Employment Exposure
FEMA, US Army, NAVFAC, DOD, DOE, National Guard Installations a plus.
Education and/or Experience
- Must have a considerable amount of hands-on facilities design experience in Medium Voltage including Distribution Design, including field survey, equipment selection, overhead and underground routing, design, specifications, controls, and cost estimating.
- Demonstrate experience with medium-voltage distribution switchgear, substations, and transformers; site systems distribution; and overhead and underground distribution.
- Site electrical distribution includes 15 and 31.5 KV and related controls for facilities projects. Expand on specific facilities design experience responsible in the areas of medium voltage, including distribution, systems, routings, field surveys, and estimating.
- Experience doing EE designs on Buildings and facility structures.
- Certified Building Commissioning Professional – CBCP
- Existing Building Cx Professional – EBCP
- Certified Energy Manager – CEM
- NEBB TAB Certified Professional - TAB
- OSHA 30 Hr. Construction Safety and Health Certified
- Commissioning and Oversight of Instrumentation Controls, Permanent/Temporary Power Equipment, Ductbanks, Feeders/Vaults, Cabling, Wiring Terminations, Substations, Generators,
Switchgear, Breaker Design, Fire Alarm Notification, Security System Alarm, Fire Sprinkler Systems, Low voltage electricity, interior and exterior lighting, IT phone and data communications, DALT Reporting, TAB Reporting, CX Reporting, Electrical Codes, and Project Closeout
- Vendor familiarity with controls and vendors such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Pritchett, Distech, Honeywell, Trane, Advantor, etc.
- CLIENT Familiarity with USACE Resident Management System (RMS) software database and USACE EM 385-1-1 requirements is a plus.
- Ability to prepare for meetings to address issues at various phases of design.
- Ability to brief managers on various design phases.
- Computer/IT skills
- Use of EE design software
- Ability to manage/handle multiple projects.
General Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be able to do a site reconnaissance and be able to navigate safely on a construction site.
- Can’t have record: DUI, fellows, child record, etc. Pass a Govt Security Background Check.
- Good oral and written skills
- Must have good professional employment references.
- As reference if candidate can manage multiple projects, has good computer skills, and can complete training and other administrative requirements.
- Has transportation to and from work (valid driver’s license, valid vehicle registration, valid vehicle insurance)
- Can work 8 hrs. a day, 5 days a week, 40 hours per week.
