Job Description

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll have the unique opportunity to work within an integrated Architecture, Engineering, and Construction firm capable of executing ONEsolution integrated project delivery work. Experience collaboration and continuous learning like never before amongst subject matter experts spanning across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process, and automation engineering; architecture and lab planning; procurement, estimation, virtual design & construction, health & safety, and construction management. How will I contribute?

You will contribute to the development and field implementation of documents through all project phases, sizes, and levels of complexity. You'll operate as the mechanical point-of-contact for clients, other disciplines, complete complex project code analysis, and plan and prepare bid/permit/construction deliverables including details and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with client and external partners
  • Advise on the planning and management of project from a mechanical design perspective
  • Partner with Project Managers on proposal development, man-hour planning, and project scheduling for the mechanical scope of work
  • Conduct and lead field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reporting
  • Identify and resolve intermediate non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys
  • Develop internal mechanical design and engineering training presentations
  • Develop construction drawing packages and write construction specifications on advanced and complex projects
  • Support of construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, and construction progress reports
  • Conduct quality checking of documents for complex projects, e.g., technical verification of design calculations and documentation, and drive overall project quality
  • Provide mentorship to other Mechanical Engineers and Designers
  • Lead advanced project system design programming and master planning with support

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (alternatively, a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical Option)
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting
  • Professional Registration (Licensure)
  • Proficiency AutoCAD and Revit required
  • Proficiency in discipline specific software required
  • Advanced experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing HVAC, mechanical utility (plumbing/drainage fixture, fire protection), and piping systems designs
  • Advanced experience with mechanical/plumbing/fire code required
  • Experience with troubleshooting issues with mechanical systems required
  • Experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reporting

Additional Qualifications

  • LEED, WELL, or other sustainable design accredited professional preferred
  • Intermediate experience with other applicable building codes and industry standards required
