Job Description
The Project Planning Manager is responsible for ensuring all project planning activities within the EU regional CRB offices comply with corporate standards and contractual requirements. Management, maintenance, and licensing distribution of Primavera P6 Software is also required. Project planning duties include responsibility for planning, developing, and supervising all project planning functions across several projects or potentially on a single large project, with total schedule management responsibility for the entire EPC integrated schedule. The Project Planning Manager will carry the responsibility to align with corporate planning initiatives, collaborate with corporate, regional as well as local office team members to provide project planning alignment, execution strategies, required training and guidance and management of the local project planners.
Responsibilities
Scheduling
- Establish a project schedule and maintain timely and effective scheduling processes and systems
- Coordinate with all departments so that all project schedules are accurately forecasted
- Review contracts and subcontracts to ensure all scheduling related requirements are met
- Work with procurement to ensure schedule requirements are incorporated into all orders
- Review all subcontractor and vendor change requests on all issues that may impact the schedule and work with project teams to mitigate any possible risk exposure
- Analyze schedule impacts relating to project schedule trends or risks and develop mitigation strategies as needed
- Identify and evaluate risk that may have an impact on the project
- Responsible for close-out of all schedule related activities
- Provide timely schedule reports to all levels of management
- Prepare and issue monthly schedule status reports to management and clients
- Maintain timely and accurate labor and productivity impact reports for all self-perform labor activities
- Maintain all subsidiary reports such as personnel schedules, equipment schedules, etc., to facilitate proper schedule projections
- Responsible for schedule input in Project Completion reports
Management
- Implement and maintain timely and effective scheduling processes and systems within the region
- Review project schedule reports monthly to verify contractual obligations are being met
- Participate in development of schedule techniques, processes, and systems
- Responsible for auditing projects to verify corporate policies and procedures are being utilized
- Work with Corporate Scheduling Manager, Regional Scheduling Manager, and management to identify, recruit, hire, and train scheduling personnel
Qualifications
- University degree in Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience
- 8 years of industry experience
- Well-versed in Primavera P6 Software and other project planning tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Touchplan, etc.)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Scheduling
- Languages: Fluent in German (C1 ), ability to communicate in English (B2 ), French (B2 ) is a plus
- Valid work permit for Switzerland/Germany or able to obtain a permit
- Willingness to travel and work on project sites
