Draftsperson
CAD Drafters prepare architectural & structural drawings for existing or new construction under the guidance of a Project Manager.
Responsibilities
Application and tracking of all permits for residential construction.
Problem-solving for construction-related details, streamlining of construction methods, new product applications, and general code compliance.
Meet with Sales and Design Specialists, subcontractors, and engineers, as needed, to determine design requirements and pricing. Assist with pricing and placing special orders for long-lead-time products as requested.
Assist with problems arising during the course of construction that may require additional design or interpretation of specifications or plans.
Provide copies of final construction plans for contract signing and copies of final construction plans for field staff.
Ensure that the contract specifications and construction plans provide the same information.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date Architectural Drafter procedure manual.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Microsoft Office suite knowledge – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Certification in structural / architectural drafting
Wood framing construction background preferred
Statics, Mechanics and Materials background preferred
Ability to read and comprehend blue prints and other construction documents
Working knowledge of CAD applications
Working knowledge of Rendering/ Design Software
