Essential Board Operator Functions:

• Check for all materials needed to produce the next scheduled job. Plates, color key, previous sample if repeat job, spec sheet, inks, and water proof.
• Determine sequence of printing sleeves, and anilox rolls.
• Note: steps 1 and 2 should be completed during the job you are currently printing.
• Loading cylinders and roll stock onto the machine.
• Proper set-up and clean-up of chambered doctor blade units.
• Make machine adjustments as required, including printing station, unwind and rewind tensions and dryer section.
• Make color correction to formulas and dispense ink using the nova flow unit.
• Check and monitor solid color reproduction using the spectrodensitometer.
• Power down and lock out machine to safely clear jam-ups or paper breaks.
• Maintain continuous check to ensure product quality and accuracy.
• Report all material and rejected material, product labor data for work center as required.
• Check that all guards and safety devices are in place and functioning before operating the machine.
• Check and replace doctor blades, seals, hoses and any other wear parts on the machine as needed.
• Recognize machine problems and communicate with maintenance as necessary.
• At the completion of each job, clean each deck and chamber thoroughly. Wash printing plates before returning to mounting area.
• Cleaning anilox rolls as needed in the micro-clean unit.
• Cleaning ink spills off the machine & floor, doing general house cleaning on a daily basis.
• Actively participates in Zone (Equipment) Ownership, Operating-Maintaining-Improving their zones, and ensuring high levels of Asset Condition and Reliability
• Performs Operator Basic Care on Equipment, respecting equipment, and treating it if it was their own
• Actively participates in the Reliability Centered Manufacturing system, executing standard work to ensure high levels of Asset Condition and Reliability
• Must follow GMP guidelines and report any food safety issues to your supervisor
• Possess a desire and aptitude to learn, practice and train in Asset Essential Care and other reliability enablers

Essential Plate Mounting Functions:

• Cut or trim photopolymer print plates to correct size.
• Set up and operate mounting equipment
• Cut and apply sticky back to printing sleeve.
• Mount photopolymer printing plates to printing sleeve and apply solution to ensure plates are held in to place
• Check that all guards and safety devices are in place and functioning before operating any equipment.
• Recognize machine problems and communicate with your supervisor and maintenance department when necessary.
• De-mount printing plates from sleeves and return to correct location.
• Clean the machine, shafts, plates & floor and perform general house cleaning on a daily basis.
• Utilizes overhead hoist to transition the shafts from the racks to the mount station and in return to the rack.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
