Payroll and Benefits Specialist
A dynamic, private energy company, and family office is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Specialist. Job responsibilities will include a wide range of HR and office related tasks. This individual will act as the main point of contact for employees’ questions on HR-related topics and act as the liaison with external service providers on payroll and benefits. This position will report to the Corporate Controller.
Responsibilities:
- Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system for five companies.
- Coordinates timely submission of hourly employee time sheets.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payrolls, withholdings, taxes, benefits, and other earnings and deductions with minimal supervision.
- Assists in employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Responds and provides support to employees regarding various HR-related topics, including leave, compensation and benefits.
- Maintains employee personnel and medical files and records.
- Ensures compliance with labor regulations.
- Administers benefits including 401K, medical insurance, dental insurance, and FSA plans.
- Maintenance of Certificates of Insurance, Master Services Agreements, vehicle fleet and hardware management.
- Provide support for external audits; and
- Performs other special projects and office duties as assigned, including backup support for the Executive Assistant.

- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including workers compensation, labor laws, unemployment claims, etc.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; and
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
Required Education, Credentials, and Experience
- B.S. in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or relevant work experience preferred.
- Multi-state payroll law experience preferred.

- $60,000 to $65,000/year discretionary bonus.
