Visual Operations Manager
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Creative Goods Merchandise LLC (“Company”) is a dynamic full-service merchandising company based in NYC with a bold vision for the live entertainment space. THE ROLE:
Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Planning and Operations (“Sr. Director”), the Visual Operations Manager position requires an individual who uses their creative and artistic vision to create and oversee merchandising displays and all aspects of their build, installation, and removal. This position will also manage any other duties involving Operations. The Visual Operations Manager must represent and foster the vision of Creative Goods and their clients across venues. They will collaborate with the full operations team on all agency projects and may have additional responsibilities assigned by the senior leadership team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with proven experience in operations and collaboration across departments.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities

Implement designs for visual displays in Broadway theatres, tour booth presentations, and experiences (“retail operations”) meeting all timelines with approval from Sr. Director

Work with Sr. Operations Manager and client accounts team on plan-o-grams and client communication of visuals for retail stores in line with client account strategy.

Source, purchase and maintain retail fixtures, merchandising aids, signage, pricing, etc. for all retail operations.

Work with graphic designers and the agency’s Art Director on the execution of design plans.

Submitting Visual Display load in schedule and timeline to the Sr. Director for all launches.

Obtain pre-approval on all display supply orders from the Sr. Director and/or client.

Ensure full transparency of load in, load out, booth build, display change plans with the Sr. Director and the entire operations team. This includes being copied on email exchanges and complete information dissemination at weekly meetings.

Coordinate delivery and installation of vinyls, gator boards, and foam core panels/displays, with support of art department.

Oversee and assist with construction of the displays in the theater.

Coordinate display plans for managers/staff to execute and maintain during the length of the show run.

Coordinate and communicate to the entire team all display updates when new items are added, products are discontinued, and booth rehabilitation during runs and tour layoffs.

Venue walkthrough/advancing of visual displays aspects with theatre owners/management.

Coordinate logistics of load-ins and load-outs with local house management and crew.

Regular theatre visits to be sure integrity of design and display is being maintained.

Solicit regular communication of visual displays from tours and experiences outside of NYC, providing redirection as needed to ensure CG standards.

Monitor Tour Manager booth photo emails to ensure the integrity of design and display on the road is maintained.

Maintain booth photos for all Broadway productions upon display freeze.

Maintain strong relationships with theatre managers, production supervisors, and house crews.

Work with multiple vendors (booth builders, vinyl production, etc.) to coordinate construction and installation as needed.

Create and maintain a complete contact list of vendors (booth builders, vinyl production, shippers etc.) for access by the entire Operations team.

Provide shipping quotes for booth delivery to theatres in NYC and on tour to Sr. Director and Sr. Manager Tour Operations, in advance of scheduling.

Assist with creating and updating of show product menus and QR code directionals.

Support the Operations team through the purchase and regular maintenance of operational and visual supplies for all retail operations, including but not limited to, load in and out supplies, cleaning supplies, stationary items, receipt tape, signage, etc.

Manage and fulfill supply requests from field teams.

Providing emergency and vacation coverage for NYC merchandise managers.

Travel to locations and assist with the construction and tear down of retail venues as needed.

Working with other departments to ensure effective communication throughout the business.

While these duties should serve as an overview of the position, duties and responsibilities may change or new ones assigned at any time by management.
Requirements & Qualifications

3-5 years visual design and implementation experience.

College degree, or equivalent work experience.

Excellent verbal and written skills.

An organized team player, who is detail-oriented and able to communicate across multiple levels of leadership.

Creative thinker with the high integrity to act as a business steward.

Construction experience is a bonus.

Ability to climb ladders to install display elements safely.

Ability to maneuver stairs.

Must be able to stand for long periods.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be willing to work in all weather conditions including extreme cold and heat.
