Mobile Art Teacher

Do you love working with kids and art? We need a motivated, loving art teacher to join our team! We need a lead teacher for upcoming mobile art classes at various schools local to our Dobbs Ferry studio. The initial classes will be on Thursday mornings (with additional days and times to be added soon).

Who we are....

Creative Hearts is a process based art studio in Dobbs Ferry, NY. We are a team of passionate believers in the magic of process art and the power of connection. Through art, we hope to uplift children and provide them with tools for life. We aim to empower children and build the connection to themselves and each other. Our intention is to demonstrate care, respect and kindness to all families in our community. We run in studio and mobile classes for preschoolers- middle schoolers. As well as birthday parties, mobile classes and special events outside the studio.

What we need....

We are looking for a friendly, hard working, self motivated, responsible, team player to join our program! We have a few teaching openings. Primarily, we are looking for a lead teacher Thursday mornings in Irvington. But we would love to find someone who is interested in joining other aspects of our program- as a secondary teacher in our morning preschool program and after school classes, or leading birthday parties and mobile classes. There is a lot of growing interest in the program and more classes are being added soon.

The Thursday class will run in the late morning (around 11/11:30) beginning in the Fall. You will work with the school director on lesson plans and materials.

We're looking for someone who loves kids, has teaching experience with preschoolers, and has experience teaching art and leading a classroom.

You will be responsible for:

• Lead weekly art lessons and in a positive and nurturing manner
• Collaborate on lesson plans, prep and material needs with the director
• Driving to and from the weekly class and the Dobbs Ferry studio
• Encourage and assist in social interactions and problem solving between children through positive reinforcement
• Ensure safety and well-being of children at all times
• Attending weekly staff meetings and working with the team to develop concepts and lessons
• Maintaining a clean and organized studio environment

Desired Experience:

• Experience leading groups of children in art projects
• Experience completing tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Self starter who is able to work well independently and multi-task with ease and confidence
• Appreciation and experience with process art
• Prior experience or interest in working with children ages 3 and 4 and their families
