Summary

We are looking for qualified teachers that will assume the responsibility of developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom while integrating and supporting family engagement. Teaching staff are to prepare young children for next steps through the implementation of organized education. Teachers must have current knowledge about children's cognitive, language, social, emotional and physical development. With this knowledge, you will ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged while introducing them to important elements that they will encounter soon after they enter school life.


A preschool teacher must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to effectively implement an inclusive classroom environment include knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods, the ability to engage children earn their trust and attention, communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, manage classroom and parental concerns, obtain required credentials and documents and fully partner and engage with families both in-person and via online daily. Our goal is to effectively contribute to the mental and emotional development of the child positively so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education both within the center and other aspects of their lives.



Duties
  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Coordinate with Co-Teachers, assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following, classroom schedule, established routines, activity planning, implementing planned activities, and completing written child observations.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements
  • Must currently possess an active Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
  • OR at least 48 semester credit hours, of which 15 semester hours are in early childhood education,early childhood development,child and family studies
  • AND at least two years of experience working with children in a licensed child development facility
  • By December 2023, must earn an associate degree in early childhood education, early childhood development, child and family studies, or a closely related field of study
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent time and attendance
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Infant/Child/ Adult CPR and First Aid certification
  • Ability to clear full background check
  • Current Drug/ Alcohol screening results
  • Current physical exam w/TB results
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination
