Overview:

The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall management of the credit union branch. This individual will be the internal and external champion for the credit union's sales and service culture and will lead the continued enhancement of service delivery and operational process improvements as related to the branch operations. The Branch Member Solutions Manager will manage organizational goals and service expectations for both retail and commercial banking needs and ensure each branch is in compliance with all regulations and policies. Collaborates with senior management in the development of strategic plans to achieve the credit union's overall objectives.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Focus on team and self-development, leadership and management through training and ongoing communications including one-on-ones, branch sales meetings and observations designed to support individual and team success, achievement of goals and career progression.
  • Manage the overall branch member experience focusing on new member growth and retention
  • Assume responsibility for branch performance, branch profitability and branch staff performance.
  • Provide focus to profile and sell/cross-sell business banking products to our existing client base, as well as train, lead and prospect new business opportunities throughout the Credit Unions geographic footprint.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the Credit Union's strategic initiatives and align the branch to achieve those initiatives.
  • Develop, implement and communicate strategic direction and goals for the branch which support the overall strategic direction and goals of the Credit Union.
  • Monitor, analyze and create branch metrics to determine branch performance toward strategic initiatives.
  • Handle complex situations with confidence, knowledge and creativity.
  • Build relationships with members by educating them about products and services they could benefit from, and mentor and train others to do the same.
  • Prepare Assistant Managers, Management Associates and future Management Associates to take on management roles within the Credit Union, and develop staff members to senior levels.
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to Credit Union 1 policies and procedures, industry norms and banking.
  • Promote positive working relationships while working with other departments to provide service the exceeds member expectations and consistency in processes for the membership and staff.
  • Create branch promotions, train and support staff for the promotions, monitor, analyze results and hold staff accountable for performance.
  • Monitor staffing levels, scheduling and branch workflow to ensure coverage to exceed member expectations and accomplish operational duties.
  • Recommend product and process improvements improve service to the members; protect the Credit Union's assets and increase productivity and operational efficiencies.
  • Take on a leadership role within the Credit Union by participating and contributing as a member of the Credit Union's management team including representing the Credit Union in the community and in a volunteer capacity.
  • Support and drive business development activities and source new high value premium and business customers.
  • Participate in the Credit Unions business development activities, represent the Credit Union in industry and professional associations, community organizations, local business groups, etc.
  • Perform other duties and assist other employees, as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development or related field of study preferred. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and/or training.
  • Minimum 2 years' related, demonstrated experience creating business development programs, policies, and standards to ensure the ability to exceed member expectations and help members reach their full economic potential. Financial industry experience is preferred.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with ability to inspire and successfully manage a diverse group of professionals working in multiple locations.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with ability to effectively communicate to senior leaders and board members, peers and supporting staff.
  • Capable of undertaking tasks broad in nature, requiring ingenuity and originality.
  • Ability to operate independently, and exercise significant latitude for independent judgement, discretion, and action.
  • Leadership skills to lead branch to achieve Credit Union directives and to develop staff to their fullest potential.
  • Bilingual fluency, English/Spanish, is preferred.
