JOB SUMMARY:
Under relatively minimal supervision, the RAD Equipment Specialist II performs and properly documents scheduled maintenance, complex repairs, and other inspections on a wide range of medical equipment, with a focus on complex medical imaging systems.
ESSENTIALS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs maintenance and repairs for the Diagnostic Imaging Department assigned geographic region utilizing specialized knowledge, training and certification in all diagnostic imaging modalities to conduct tests, repairs, calibration, inspection, quality assurance, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance inspections.
- Applies strong technical knowledge of wired and wireless networking, and of radiology computer systems.
- Performs other duties, as needed, to support Clinical Engineering.
- Provides mentoring to Radiology Equipment Specialist I and attends manufacturer training as needed to support equipment.
- Attends and contributes to meetings supporting the Imaging Department and provides good communication and documentation of assigned tasks.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as government regulations.
- Develops and presents solution options to supervisors on critical issues.
- Provide technical assistance and instruction on equipment operation and maintenance to personnel.
- Assume additional responsibility as directed by the supervisor.
- Maintain expected productivity according to productivity and billing requirements.
Experience & Educational Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Biomedical Technology or a related field
4 years’ experience in repair/maintenance of Radiology/CT equipment; multiple manufacturer experience preferred.
