What are the responsibilities and job description for the Float Teacher position at Creek Day School?
Creek Day School is a non-profit childcare center in the heart of Madison. Our school community serves 35 children ages 2-6. We are a City of Madison Accredited childcare, state licensed, and a 5-star program on the Youngstar quality rating system. We have been serving families in the Madison area for over 40 years.
Creek's program is based on the philosophy that play is the fundamental learning experience. We view the preschool years as a critical time in the development of social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth. Our goal is to provide a wide variety of play experiences that foster social, problem-solving, and self-help skills while encouraging a positive self-concept.
Indoor classroom spaces are dynamic with ample space to learn and explore. Classroom group sizes are small with a low child-to-teacher ratio. A large grassy playground provides ample opportunity for active outdoor play. The playground includes open grassy spaces, a sand area, climbing structures, swings, and a natural wooded canopy area. During the growing season, children help with planting and tending to Creek's vegetable garden and recently planted fruit trees.
