Senior Director - Materials

Crenlo has an exciting opportunity within our Leadership Team. We are looking for a Senior Director of Materials reporting to the COO to be a strategic business partner.  You must be a result driven individual with a proven track record driving results with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, attention to detail, able to influence across the organization and desire to make a difference. This position is a remote position with 50% travel expectations.

In This Position You Will:

• Set a clear vision for the Materials departments at all plants – Customer focused
• Guide the Materials Directors to oversee production planning, capacity planning, scheduling, material flow (shipping, receiving, storage, control, distribution) and inventory management
• Maintain proper inventory levels to balance customer delivery performance with cash flow
• Maintain and ensure inventory accuracy (quantity and location) to assure efficient production
  • Disciplined cycle counting process
  • Regular auditing of all inventory transactions
  • Root cause and corrective actions related to inventory discrepancies
• Own Sales, Inventory and Operation Planning (SIOP) process for Crenlo including role clarity, performance metrics and continuous improvement
• Oversee shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts and finished goods
• Work with Supply Chain department to maintain purchased parts parameters and measure supply chain performance
• Manage and monitor storage of purchased parts and finished goods including visual management
• Minimize impact of Excess and Obsolete (E&O) write offs
• Drive performance management of all Materials personnel (Directors, Planners, Material Handling, etc.) including positions descriptions, goals and objectives, performance feedback, rewards and recognition, talent assessment.
• Ensure role standards across all three US plants (Titles, functions, organizational design)
• Leverage ERP/MRP (Oracle EBS) and Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASPC) to drive efficiency and accuracy
• Develop reports and dashboards to help manage by exception
• Embrace and help implement Crenlo Operating System (Daily Management, Gemba, Strategy Deployment, KPIs and Countermeasures)
• Embrace and support Crenlo’s Values and Guiding Principles
• Establish strategies for Kan Ban and Plan for Every Part (PFEP) to help ensure materials are where they are needed at the time they are needed
• Help improve overall Operations as an active participant on the Operations Leadership Team
• Establish clear metrics for department performance and continuous improvement
• Drive department Daily Management
• Develop a strong team. Coach, mentor and develop existing professionals

Basic Qualifications: (required)

• Bachelor’s Degree
• MBA, preferred
• Deep understanding of ERP/MRP (Preferably Oracle EBS / ASCP)
• Multi-Plant experience preferred
• 10 years minimum experience as a Materials leader in complex manufacturing environment(s)
• Track record of driving improvements, results oriented
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Teacher, mentor, people developer
• Exceptional analytical capability (Excel, PowerBI, Oracle EBS)
• Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence – ability to motivate staff.
• Excellent analytical, reasoning’ and problem-solving skills
• Hands on. Sense of urgency.  Bias to action.  Doer vs. delegator.
• Willing to travel 50%
• Data driven and skilled in disciplined problem solving (8D, 5 Why, Paretos…)
