POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical Receptionist/Assistant for CRH Rapid Relief Clinics is responsible for being the first point of contact as patients come into an office. This position will oversee the full spectrum of the patient experience, handling both front and back-office responsibilities. Duties include, but not limited to, greeting patients, collecting patient information, answering questions, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance information. Organized and efficient while overseeing and executing everyday administrative tasks to ensure that the medical office runs smoothly and successfully. Position reports directly to Director of Operations, Rapid Relief Clinics.
JOB SPECIFIC EXPECTATIONS
- Welcomes patients and visitors to the medical office by greeting patients and visitors in person/on the telephone and answering inquiries or referring questions to other staff members.
- Performs intake process of collecting patient insurance, consent forms, confirming demographics, and collecting any payments due.
- Escorts patients to exam room and ensures that exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
- Take patient vitals and prepare patient for provider visit.
- Schedules appointments for the physicians to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and most effective use of examining and treatment rooms. Prepares a daily schedule of examinations for each provider.
- Endeavors to keep patients on schedule by reminding provider of service delays.
- Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Opens and sorts office mail. Organizes outgoing mail for pick up.
- Participates in the medical office emergency routine when required. Summons ambulance or EMS or assists other staff members as needed.
- Gather and record accurate and pertinent data in the electronic medical record according to documentation guidelines.
- Support office with administrative and secretarial tasks.
- Maintains clinical and office supplies for treatment.
- Communicate with internal office team and providers to ensure patients are helped and everyday tasks are accomplished
- Understand and maintain HIPAA regulations
Education & Qualifications:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
Licensure & Certifications: Graduate from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program preferred.
Previous Experience: Previous medical office or receptionist experience required.
Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; efficient problem solver; strong knowledge of medical language and health insurance plans. Professional level of verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact with patients, co-workers, and operations management.
Computer Skills: Proficiency with computer programs, such as Microsoft Office and use of a laptop and mobile device is required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
