Job Description
The Warehouse Supervisor - Supervises the administration and performance of all yard activities for all front-line associates on his/her shift. Reports to the SR Operations Manager, Assistant General Manager (AGM) with significant interface with the General Manager (GM), Office Manager, Warehouse Managers, Client and Vendors.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitors the activities of employees in the Amtrak railyard and/or Amtrak station ensuring compliance of all “Business Processes” and Safety Regulations.
- Monitors requisitions, product tracking, temperature control, rotation and dating of product, inventories and quality control to ensure a smooth flow of food and supplies to Amtrak Trains,
- Assist all client with any questions or request for products for the trains.
- Maintains work methods and practices to ensure the PAR's are assembled in accordance with Amtrak's specifications and delivered to each car on time.
- Ensures that the yard facilities and Amtrak's equipment are properly used, secured and maintained.
- Models and leads yard, regional and corporate security, safety and sanitation policies. Including the proper use of Power Industrial Vehicles, NRA & FDA regulations.
- Supervises the activities of each front-line associate during their shift.
- Provides guidance and training to the /railyard team utilizing coaching & counseling when necessary and monitors staff performance standards.
Long Description
- Schedule work force to perform functions with minimal overtime; to include actively participating in the performance of warehouse functions when necessary
- Conducts daily shift briefings when required.
- Ensures that work areas are clean at all times.
- Consistently makes recommendations to improve productivity, efficiencies, and customer service.
- Works in environment, such as warehouse, railyard or station, cooler, freezers or/and outdoors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED or relevant work experience
- 1-2 years of warehouse experience preferred
- 2 years of supervising experience preferred
- Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
- Comfortable working in warehouse, railyard or station, cooler, freezers or/and outdoors.
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to work various shifts of a 24/7 operation.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to obtain DOT certification to operate DOT regulated vehicles if needed
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
- Must understand the importance of safety, possess strong customer services skills, audit skills, & the ability to work in a dynamic environment in an industrial setting.
