Job purpose
To support the community at large around topics related to victimization, and prevention.
Duties and responsibilities
Fundraising

Plan, implement, and analyze fund development activities and fundraising events

Identify and develop corporate, community, and individual prospects for the organization's fundraising priorities
- Oversee the administration of a donor mailing list and database
- Coordinate the design, printing, and distribution of marketing and communication materials
- Assist CEO in building relationships with community stakeholders to advance the mission and fundraising goals of the organization
- Prepare, implement, and report activities of a comprehensive social media plan

Manage the agency website as well as Constant Contact, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.

Develop and maintain branding standards
Outreach & Education

Take the lead on community engagement in person and online. Actively increase the visibility of CVAC by means of community events, tabling, community education and social media presence

Be the point of contact for other organizations who participate and organize community events that serve clients who may be effected by crime in the Broome County area and beyond

Research and assist in the development of up-to-date, quality presentation materials for various community groups (youth, professionals, volunteers, etc.)

Assist in prevention programming (adult, youth & campus) on an as needed basis, in person & virtually

Facilitate education groups both provided curriculums and self-developed curriculums in person & virtually

Work within the education team to organize curriculum development and upkeep of outreach & curriculum materials

Communicate with various schools and community groups to create ongoing partnerships with CVAC (training, policy & support)

Represent CVAC on various task forces and coalitions

Maintain general monthly education & outreach statistics & organize community evaluations for tabling events as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social work, communications or related field preferred; Associate’s degree in mental health and/or equivalent experience; minimum one-year experience in education or public speaking.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Reliable transportation and driver’s license required.
Experience working with volunteers and/or non-profits preferred.
Experience in education, creating social and print media preferred.
Must complete 40-hour rape crisis counselor training and an additional ten hours of ongoing, professional education each subsequent calendar year. After training and shadowing are complete, two on call shifts a month providing advocacy for the hospitals is required.
Working conditions
Position requires some travel. Occasional work evenings and weekends is required.
