SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Secondary Teacher to join our team at Crimson Heights. Our day treatment program serves students who require additional support due to emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges. As a Secondary Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing academic instruction, fostering student growth, and supporting their social-emotional development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Curriculum Development: Develop and implement engaging and rigorous curriculum for secondary students, aligned with state standards and tailored to meet individual student needs and abilities.
  • Instructional Delivery: Deliver dynamic and interactive lessons, utilizing a variety of teaching strategies and technologies to enhance student engagement and comprehension. Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and academic backgrounds.
  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Design and administer assessments to evaluate student learning and progress. Analyze assessment data to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement, and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Individualized Education Planning: Collaborate with the special education team to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities or special accommodations. Modify curriculum and instructional strategies to support students in achieving their IEP goals.
  • Behavior Management: Implement positive behavior support strategies and proactive classroom management techniques to create a safe and supportive learning environment. Address behavioral challenges with empathy and consistency, while promoting accountability and self-regulation.
  • Parent and Family Communication: Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress, academic achievements, and behavioral concerns. Foster collaborative partnerships with families to support student success both at school and at home.
  • Professional Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to support the development of students and promote a positive school culture. Participate in professional learning communities, team meetings, and staff development activities.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Secondary Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching license in Utah for Secondary Education is preferred.
  • Previous experience teaching secondary-level ELA and/or Science, preferably in a diverse or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of effective instructional strategies, curriculum design, and assessment practices for secondary students.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to establish a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in addressing the unique needs and challenges of students in a day treatment program setting.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
