SUMMARY: This position is responsible for wiring and testing large and small scale custom engineered pieces of equipment for the pharmaceutical industry. This individual will not only be responsible for hands on wiring and testing of the equipment but will frequently interact with subordinates, customers, and functional peer groups at various technical levels. Regularly discusses progress, problems and proposed solutions with colleagues and senior personnel. Produce the highest quality product/service while adhering to ASME/BPE and GMP guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and related work may be assigned as necessary.
Lay out and wire large and small scale electrical panels.
Familiarity with reading and understanding electrical drawings and schematics.
Expertise in the use of various types of machinery and hand tools related to the cutting, machining and polishing of high grade stainless steel.
Pro-actively seek ways to maintain and improve all manufacturing standards.
Make timely decisions to ensure highest level of quality and customer satisfaction are always met.
Pro-actively seek ways to increase performance. (i.e. implementing equipment improvements to increase productivity)
Responsible for obtaining weekly production goals and executing these goals.
SPECIFICATIONS and QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
Electrical license. Ability to direct activities of team members during assembly.
Familiarity with various types of hand and power tools.
Working knowledge of electrical systems and components.
Ability to continuously improve upon safety, quality, and performance.
High level of adaptability, flexibility, clear direction and creative decision-making in a highly challenging environment.
Continuous standing for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day).
Lifting and movement of heavy objects.
Education and/or experience: High School or equivalent with minimum 5-8 years relevant experience.
Language skills
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Continuous standing for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
Lifting and movement of heavy objects
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Safety glasses and other required protection should be worn when out in the shop area.
