WORK OBJECTIVE:
Overall responsibility for implementing CRM service business model, improving the customer experience, and ensuring full compliance to CRM policies and procedures throughout the region. The Landscaper is responsible for the day-to-day work orders and maintenance contracts of the Landscaping Division, including residential, commercial, resort lawn care, landscape installation, and operation of light and heavy equipment. This position may be required to work independently with little or no guidance.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. It is not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. Additional duties may be assigned relevant to the position at the discretion of the Landscaping Division Manager.
- Treat lawn and landscaping with pesticides to remove harmful insects
- Plant new flowers, bushes, plants, and decorative shrubs
- Operate string trimmer and edger to remove overgrowth and keep outdoor area tidy
- Prune to remove damaged or dying plant life
- Water and fertilize plants
- Use leaf blower to clear walkways and pedestrian areas after lawn maintenance
- Properly store and handle all equipment, tools, sprinklers, etc.
- Trim and hedge small trees and shrubs
- Mowing grass and turf
- Rake leaves
- Load, transport, and distribute mulch, straw, hardscape, and other materials
- Monitor and maintain plant health
- Clean outdoor spaces
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school or GED and minimum of 1 year of landscaping experience. Must be able to work independently, must be reliable. All applicants must have a clean driving record, professional appearance and be able to pass a background check.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to operate tractor and heavy equipment; SC Pesticide Applicator certification; landscape aquatics (fountain, pond, etc.) experience; mechanical and repair expertise of equipment; irrigation experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledgeable on zero turn, weed eating, blowing, hedges
- Comfortable operating lawn maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, etc.
- Ability to work outdoors in a mix of weather conditions
- Plant I.D. and working knowledge of botany and horticulture
- Ability to pull trailer
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Time management and setting priorities
- Multi-tasking ability
- Strong work ethic
- Proper and safe use of equipment and processes
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 75 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
