What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Marketing Analytics position at Cronin and Company?

You will be building a best-in-class Marketing Analytics practice for today’s enterprise scale organizations. You will enhance marketing return on investment (MROI), optimize industry leading marketing programs, and enable better & faster decisions through Analytics. Core responsibilities will include:
  • Client Strategy & Management - Present and sell in strategic client Marketing Analytics plans, with a focus on marketing return on investment and being the “intelligence inside” awesome marketing and sales campaigns producing exceptional results.
  • Analytics Practice Development - Build onto our already strong Analytics solution set, providing thought leadership in measurement, collection, and test/learn methodologies. Create the roadmap for our future investments and work with industry leading executives to deliver on marketing analytics full potential.
  • Measurement & Learning - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define campaign objectives and KPIs to provide framework to measure success. Develop innovative, insightful analytics solutions for website activity, online advertising, email/e-CRM programs, social media, and other emerging trends that help solve key business problems. Develop a consistent, structured and scalable digital test approach that yields actionable information to drive performance. Testing areas include audience targeting, creative / messaging, and digital media channels and tactics, website and landing page variations.
  • Tracking and Tagging - Leverage in depth knowledge around media pixels and site tagging to ensure proper tagging strategy including design, implementation, QA and troubleshooting. Help lead clients through the transition to GA4.
  • Performance Dashboards: Own the development of digital media performance dashboards on platforms such as Data Studio, Tableau, Power BI, as well as our own custom ecosystems.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee and ensure adherence to timelines, data integrity, and consistency. Ensure data protection, security, and privacy with oversight on internal server applications to host data. Formalize documentation of procedures, manual and automated processes.
  • Department Management: Build team and align existing resources to support Analytics initiatives and functions. Counsel the professional development of direct reports and oversee their work product.
  • Agency-wide Best-in-Class Technology Adoption - Partners with colleagues in Digital, IT, Media, and other functions to ensure a coordinated and complementary adoption and utilization of best-in-class technology solutions. Collaborates with VP, Digital to ensure alignment between the Digital and Analytics teams and identifies considerations for shared resources and processes.
  • Hands-on Custom Development – This role requires hands on development as the agency leans into expanding our analytics offering. Must be a team player willing to work alongside colleagues and direct reports.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Preferred: Advanced Degree in Economics, Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics or related quantitative field.
  • 8 years of marketing measurement and analytics experience.
  • Understanding of digital media channels such as programmatic display, paid search, SEO, paid social and content distribution, etc.
  • A thorough understanding of the advertising analytics ecosystem and evolving landscape and a clear point of view of how to categorize, measure, and analyze disparate data to draw meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
  • Experience with ETL processes, API integrations, developing automated scripts and the use of data platforms like Funnel.io.
  • Firm understanding and experience with data management, including platform integration (segment profiles, leads data, DSPs, DMPs, MRI, CRM).
  • Experience with tag management, test/optimization platforms, web analytics tools, data visualization, analytics/BI tools.
  • Extensive experience with Ad Servers such as DoubleClick, and website analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics and tag managers such as Google Tag Manager and Ensighten.
  • Expertise in ad verification tools such as IAS, Moat, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of statistical analysis and research methodologies.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and data engineering using languages such as Python, R, or a similar platform; experience querying data from SQL databases.
  • Proven experience as a successful leader and manager.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIP



This position reports to the VP Digital and works closely with the VP Media.

OFFICE ENVIRONMENT



Remote work opportunity, travel to Connecticut office and client locations required (30-40%). This is an exempt position.
