Homebuilders Supervisor
Location: Triad Region, North Carolina
Crossnore Communities for Children is seeking a passionate HOMEBUILDERS® Supervisor who will provide support, guidance, and training to our dedicated practitioners.This pivotal role involves not only overseeing our team's development but also acting as the main liaison between our HOMEBUILDERS® team and agency management.

Hiring Range: $58,500 to $67,000 annually

JOB INFORMATION

REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Prevention Services

SUMMARY: The HOMEBUILDERS® Supervisor provides support, supervision, training and development, and oversight to a HOMEBUILDERS® team of practitioners within the NC Triad Region. Travel to community agencies and families’ homes will be required. This position will serve as a primary liaison between the HOMEBUILDERS® team and the agency’s management team. This position will serve as the primary contact with the HOMEBUILDERS® consultant regarding implementation of the model and program fidelity. It will be necessary to be available to respond to client and practitioner crises as they occur.

STATUS: Full Time, Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human services or related field.
  • Licensed clinician required (full or associate level LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT).
  • Minimum of at least 3 years experience providing direct services to children and families.
  • Previous experience as a supervisor strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with the NC Child Welfare system is strongly preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills/Competencies
  • Commitment to the HOMEBUILDERS® model. Working knowledge of the state child welfare and mental health systems strongly preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with members of caseload and their families, coworkers, and community collaborators.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Must have the ability to hold self and others accountable, give feedback related to areas in which staff perform well and areas needing improvement.

  • Professional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Must be able to balance and prioritize multiple tasks and/or projects.
  • Demonstrated passion for serving youth and families, and the youth-serving workforce.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of email and a variety of computer software programs. Proficiency with Microsoft and Google products preferred.
  • Sense of humor, creativity and a willingness to make and learn from mistakes.
  • Displays enthusiasm and confidence in taking on tasks and challenges.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to respond to Practitioner, and client/family needs.
  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License, a vehicle in good working condition, and must be willing to travel to various job related locations.
  • Automobile liability insurance that meets minimum agency requirements.
  • Must live in the designated service area and be at least 21 years of age

  • Ensure the provision of quality services through participation in Crossnore Communities for Children Performance Quality Improvement (PQI).
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Oversight/Operations
  • Ensure service delivery is consistent with HOMEBUILDERS® Standards, and adhere to all supervisor components in the HOMEBUILDERS® Standards.
  • Receive referral inquiries, screen for eligibility, gather referral information, and manage assignment of referrals to maintain practitioner caseloads. When applicable, be available to accept referrals 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
  • Act as a primary back-up for practitioners, and be available for immediate consultation 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Provide coverage of the emergency/crisis line; arrange for coverage when unavailable; help arrange back up coverage for practitioners as needed.
  • Ensure families are seen within 24 hours of referral, and practitioners meet standard for ongoing client contact requirements (approximately 40 hours per intervention).
  • Schedule and maintain a flexible workweek to meet the needs of children, families and program staff.
  • Supervisors without prior HOMEBUILDERS® experience must complete a minimum of six full HOMEBUILDERS® interventions during the first year (18 months of supervising four or five new practitioners). Additional interventions may be required based on the supervisor’s model fidelity and client outcomes.
  • Responsible for the day to day operations of supervisees (tactical/operational issues) such as addressing client related issues, keeping staff on task/on track with daily needs.
  • Facilitate weekly team consultations, and individual consultations with practitioners as needed to assess progress on goals and help structure time and activities during interventions. Ensure every family is staffed at least weekly.
  • Monitors use of concrete funds; assist practitioners in prioritizing families’ concrete and service needs to ensure resources are utilized effectively.
  • Will be accountable to the Senior Director for financial/budgets.
Personnel Management/Supervision/Training
  • Supervises direct line staff, helps to hold staff accountable for meeting program expectations and HOMEBUILDERS® Standards, Mentors staff members, acts as resource for staff.
  • Work with practitioners to develop individual Professional Development Plans related to model implementation.
  • Will carry a reduced caseload.
  • Ensures staff participate in all required HOMEBUILDERS® trainings.
  • Assists with interviewing prospective employees.
  • Provides shadowing opportunities for new staff (at least two cases) prior to assigning practitioners cases.
  • Provide ongoing shadowing of HOMEBUILDERS® interventions to ensure quality care is provided to children and families.
Strategic Planning/Implementation of Work
  • Leads micro-level implementation and ensures staff are meeting expectations regarding process and workflow changes.
  • Assists with developing program goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring direct line staff plan and organize their work based on expectations and holds staff accountable.
  • Understands workflows and priorities.
  • Provides feedback on progress to leadership and involves leadership when staff are not meeting expectations consistently and need further coaching/performance management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Compliance and Outcome Tracking
  • Closely monitors staff's understanding/compliance with following policies and procedures.
  • Ensures staff input data, information, etc in tracking/measuring tools and platforms to clearly/accurately inform KPI measures.
  • Ensures all documents are entered thoroughly and in a timely manner in the IFD ECM system.
  • Staffs cases with direct line staff on a regular basis.
  • Makes assistant directors/directors aware of needs for additional staffing of complex cases.
  • Stays up to date on policy changes.
Working Relationships/Stakeholder Engagement
  • Builds and maintains productive working relationships with coworkers and external parties, including community partners, referral agencies, providers, clients.
  • Gathers feedback from family members and referring DSS partners concluding each HOMEBUILDERS® intervention.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Position requires flexible scheduling, according to agency, Practitioner, and client/family needs. This position will require after-hours on-call support to staff within the team. All referrals and admission, as well as crisis-related phone calls should be returned within 15 minutes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Light
Position may require lifting to 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Frequent walking, standing, and sitting. Frequent reaching and/or grasping using hands and/or arms. May be required to ascend/descend stairs. Frequent use of hands requiring dexterity in using the telephone, computer keyboard, or other objects. Visual ability including distance, peripheral and depth perception. Ability to drive. Regularly required to talk and hear.
