What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Device Integration Specialist/ BMET III position at Crothall Healthcare?
Key Responsibilities:
Help with research, planning, and preparation for new incoming medical systems. (Projects)
Works with the Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) Project Manager (PM) and manages commitments in accordance with Clinical Engineering’s Support requirements and obligations to the healthcare organization.
Participation in in the planning, process engineering, development and implementation for integrated medical device/clinical information system projects.
Maintain Medical Systems at the HIT Site.
Knowledgeable of the operation of and have experience in the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of medical equipment and systems.
System/Network Security
LDAP Integration (OU Groups and Memberships)
Local User Administration Setup to HIT Policy
Monitor and evaluate proposed software revisions to medical equipment systems and actively track and ensure that systems being upgraded
Support/Repair of CEIT vendor supplied servers
System Administrator functions of CEIT Systems
Work with HIT and various medical device and software vendors to lab test solutions prior to these solutions being put into production environment.
Maintain Medical equipment Interoperability with EMR system
Devices with Wireless, LAN and Serial Communications.
Ex. MAC5500, Ultrasounds, Capsule Neurons
Documentation of Clinical Systems that CEIT are maintaining
MDIS (Medical Device Integration System)
Risk Assessments/Risk Scoring for HIPPA Compliance
MSD2 Forms
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, military training or equivalent experience
3 years servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment
For field service positions requiring travel, valid driver’s license is required
Ability to work independently with some supervision
Good communication and strong customer service skills
Ability and willingness to serve "on-call" duty as required
Strong work ethic and ability to work as a member of a team
