The Plumber/Steamfitter works under the direct supervision of the Engineering management team. Inspects, repairs and installs, pipes, fittings, plumbing fixtures, heating, steam, water, gas, D.W.V. systems as well as specialized piping, ABS, PVC, Medical gases and others; performs other jobs as assigned.
Job Requirements: New York State Drivers License.High school graduate; trade or vocational school with courses in blueprint reading and mechanical drawing. Five to seven years as Journeyman Plumber/Steamfitter in the commercial, industrial, or healthcare field. Legible penmanship. Knowledge of basic math, e.g., addition, subtraction and simple multiplication. Available for rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. Ability to communicate with customers, patients and colleagues in a professional and respectful manner. Pass Engineering entrance exam. NFPA 99-2005 Certification for installation of Medical Gas Systems preferred. Pipe and orbital welding certifications for high pressure piping and vessels preferred. Backflow prevention device testing certification preferred.
