Job Description:
Job Summary
Crowe is looking for a Business and Optimization Specialist with the drive to work in an entrepreneurial environment supporting our internal audit teams and large client base in the financial service industry. The Business and Optimization Specialist will assume an Optimization Business Analyst role to understand business challenges and introduce process improvement recommendations leading to using robotic process automation tools such as Blue Prism, Microsoft’s Power Automate and Power Automate Desktop. This individual will be contributing to our Financial Service Consulting practice operating from the Process Optimization Center of Excellence, while working on various areas including Optimization Business Analysis to aid Process Automation for Internal Audit processes. Typical responsibilities include:
- Facilitate collaborative workshops with key stakeholders to document end to end current state processes, internal/external pain points, and desired outcomes for analysis
- Question status quo and identify areas of improvement through elimination of non-value-added work
- Construct service blueprints to specify and detail each aspect of service supporting client experience/journey end to end creating shared awareness of each team’s responsibilities and ownership of critical service elements
- Act as a Process Automation Subject Matter Expert to recommend Digital Worker strategic work for analyzed processes
- Deploy Lean principles for recommendations for process improvements
- Leverage Process/Task mining for further analysis with data driven process-health understanding
- Utilize UX feedback, Job aids, procedures, and process maps to identify processes for further optimization and/or automation and using analysis make strategic recommendations
- Write functional and non-functional requirements at a level that can be validated by the client and utilized by the technical project team; manage/maintain all requirements documentation
- Leverage expertise to lead technical projects through the systems development lifecycle or agile activities on large projects
- Use Crowe standard tools for Agile methodology for use story development
- Act as a liaison between business and developers to elicit process automation requirements
- Prepare test plans, test scripts, and complete testing to minimize defects prior to User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Document and track defects/issues and ensure timely resolution
- Facilitate and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to prove the solution meets the client’s needs
- Develop/train junior analysts on best practices
- Evolve to analyze complex and advanced Process automation use cases with chatbots, Machine Learning and advanced technology/tools to satisfy diverse client needs
Qualifications
Educational and Professional Credentials
- Bachelor's degree is required, major in Computer Science, MIS, or similar preferred
- 3 years of experience as a business analyst
- 1 years of experience as a process automation business analyst with hands-on experience on BluePrism or MS Power Automate Desktop.
- Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- Customer focused (Design Thinking), problem solving mindset and passion for understanding end to end process and impact on client
- Process skills: Requirements elucidation, process mapping, optimization, workflow design
- Automation Skills: Requirements gathering, business case formulation, Quality Assurance, Testing
- Process/Task Mining experience (MS Process Advisor, BP Process Intelligence, Celonis, etc.)
- Visio, BPMN tool, ADO, ServiceNow experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, subject matter experts and developers
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve problems
- Extremely detail oriented and organized with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience creating artifacts and documenting requirements for software projects ensuring that business, user, functional and non-functional requirements are clear, concise, testable, and traceable (including experience with modeling, diagramming, and prototyping tools to generate analysis and design deliverables)
- Solid experience with analysis techniques/methods (including, but not limited to, scope diagrams, process models, data models, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, storyboards, prototypes, state diagrams, CRUD matrix, etc.)
- Expertise with a variety of testing techniques (quality assurance skills including, but not limited to, unit testing, requirements testing, integration testing, performance testing, usability testing, etc.)
- Aptitude to constantly question the status-quo and look for optimal solutions (including advanced process automation solutions) backed by detailed analytics
- Remain abreast of and research industry technical trends and new development to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards
- Business acumen knowledge of financial service industry, products, services, operations, etc.
- Technical knowledge in any of the following (SAP, Oracle Financials, PeopleSoft, Microsoft
- Dynamics, NetSuite, Workday, JDE; Operating Systems and Databases such as Windows, SQL,
- iSeries, UNIX, LINUX; Cloud, AWS, Azure)
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment either onsite or at home.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact in a team environment and foster client relationships.
- Passion, flexibility, and patience to learn new things while improving processes.
