Overview
Crowe Global intends to upgrade its platform and approach to the management and delivery of its restricted list and conflict checks currently managed through the network's Member Portal. Crowe Global plans to implement a new technology platform that is to be used for the global restricted list ("entity management") and for global conflict checks ("conflict check requests"). The platform will hold restricted list data and be used to facilitate the origination of and response to negative and positive conflict of interest checks. The Platform will apply the appropriate regulatory rule sets/professional standards (e.g., IESBA, SEC, UK, etc.) configured for Crowe Global policies to entities. Efficient access to data, whether from the restricted list or circulation of conflict checks, will enable member firms and their personnel to determine whether there is a potential conflict or threat to independence. Crowe Global sees the implementation of a new restricted list and conflict check platform as a natural development of its commitment to quality management in all disciplines and the management and protection of its brand. Crowe Global's mission is to Work As One and the new platform is a critical strategic development to facilitate the integration and growth of the network.
The Role
The Data Specialist will create data assets to solve business challenges for the global restricted list and global conflict checking on the large-scale, multi-year, cross-border, global strategic initiative. Comprehensive build and testing of such products require ingesting and transforming data into formats that can be easily generated and analyzed. The Data Specialist will be responsible for expanding and optimizing the data collection, as well as optimizing data flow and collection across Crowe Global member firms. The ideal candidate is experienced with data migration and analysis and enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up.
Responsibilities
Create, maintain, and advise on optimal data pipeline architecture from data ingestion to target for various data initiatives.
Design and implement the needed ETL or ELT.
Experience leading data mapping, cleansing, and end-user validation is a plus.
Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, etc.
Create scripts that provide details about data quality, operational efficiency, and other critical metrics.
Work with stakeholders including the executives, data owners, and design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Design and implement solutions that ensure adherence to the applicable regulations and contractual obligations.
Assist with applying and monitoring data quality metrics from the enterprise quality library on the key fields of datasets.
Develop scripts and processes to migrate data across platforms.
Act as an expert with all facets of the data life cycle.
Identify sensitive and regulated data elements within product schemas that are mandated to be de-identified in non-production environments.
Must be able to effectively interact with, present information to, and respond to questions from all levels of the organization.
Possesses strong problem-solving skills and is comfortable with ambiguity, creative thinking, and leading change.
Detail oriented. Highly accurate in data entry and analysis.
Results-oriented, diligent, and work with a sense of urgency.
Assertive, responsible for his/her own work (self-directed), having a strong affinity for defining work in deliverables, and willing to commit to deadlines.
Commitment:
Time Commitment: 50% - 100% (20-40 hours weekly)
Expected Duration: 2-3 years
Qualifications:
Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
Strong analytic skills related to working with structured and semi-structured datasets.
Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Requirements:
5 years of experience in a Data Engineer role.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or other relevant field required.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to take part in audio and/or video conferencing & virtual whiteboarding with geographically dispersed teams.
Collaborative nature to partner with a diverse set of stakeholders.
Experience working on international projects across the globe dealing with various time zones and understanding local customs is a plus.
Ability to work overtime during peak project periods, as needed.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $62,115.00 to $135,353.00.
