Position Title: Manager, Quality Assurance Engineering (M2)

Role:

As a Manager, Quality Assurance Engineering, you’ll join our Data & Digital team helping us lead, design and build our digital transformation and define what’s next for our business—while working in an organization that’s continuously investing in data and systems.

Crown is building a Quality Engineering capability to deliver and ensure quality across software products supported by Data & Digital. We’re looking for a Manager, Quality Assurance Engineering with significant software QA experience to lead and scale a team of manual testers to take them to the next level. The ideal candidate has deep experience with several different flavors of QA (functional, performance, automation, etc.), and has prior leadership experience building testing best practices & processes as well as defining tools. While there is a strong leadership component, this role is also an active QA team member for delivering work. You will drive the standard for all other QA team members to adhere to through defining test plans/cases, executing tests, and working with development teams to deliver quality products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and evolve a team of QA testers by defining and implementing QA and software test best practices to drive the company’s digital evolution to effectively embed QA operations into the organization including a “shift left” approach”.
  • Build deep knowledge of end-to-end processes across systems, taking the time to partner with product and business stakeholders to understand product vision and requirements
  • Build QA processes, assist with tool selection and establish new testing standards based on industry trends
  • Establish and implement test strategies, design test plans, and test cases including creating automated and manual Test Libraries
  • Provide direction and serve as a quality expert in software quality processes
  • Recommend improvements to overall test design and implementations to support security, scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Define target metrics, implement data collection methods, and conduct routine analysis and trending
  • Mentor, coach, and hire motivated teams of manual testers and quality analysts including continuing to elevate team member skills
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues and provide support and guidance to your team of quality analysts and testers to find and implement solutions.
  • Evaluate project plan statuses to identify and resolve issues and manage organizational dependencies.

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, information Systems, or related discipline
  • Software Quality Engineer Certifications (CSQE- ASQ) preferred

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience leading and scaling a quality assurance team of manual testers
  • 3 years of QA experience with thorough knowledge of testing methodologies, industry tools and best practices
  • Hands on experience in quality assurance and technical testing including test design and planning
  • Experience with metric design and reporting including a data-backed approach to decision making
  • Knowledge of QA methodology and tools
  • Experience in authoring and/or implementing automated tests preferred
  • Vast knowledge with product development lifecycles and highly methodical test discipline, applicable to all product development cycles
  • Experience working with Agile methods, including SAFe.

Working Conditions:
This is a remote role with the expectation of on-site/in-person collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter and may require up to 15% travel.
