Industrial Lab Technician

Summary/Objective

The QC Lab Technician supports quality systems as they relate to the manufacturing and

testing of automotive components. The position performs analytical testing on a regular basis for

such purposes as quality control, or product development. Maintains laboratory equipment, files,

procedure manuals, MSDS and supplies.

Essential Functions

1. Inspect products and materials to determine whether or not they meet the customer’s

quality expectations.

2. Requires fine observation skills and attention to detail.

3. Tests samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.

4. Technician will document results of testing on standard forms.

5. Prepares test solutions.

6. Calibrates laboratory instruments

7. Maintains laboratory equipment and ensures cleanliness

8. Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.

9. Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.

10. Assist in resolving quality-related issues in a timely manner.

Education and Experience

1. Five years experience in lab environment preferred

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne

particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can

be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The

employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach

with hands and arms. The position involves sitting, walking and lifting up to 25 pounds for long

periods of time throughout the day.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
