Job Summary
This leader will support the weekend activity of a customer and team of Fleet Managers who oversee all aspects of a fleet of trucks and drivers. Their main task is to ensure the customer is serviced with a fleet that is well-maintained, meets legal requirements, and is operated efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize costs. They are responsible for partnering with other managers to ensure the customer is supported 24/7. This team will have the ability to impact culture by increasing overall driver satisfaction and improving driver retention. They also work closely with drivers to coordinate deliveries and ensure they arrive at their destination on time. Communication, analytical, and organizational skills are essential to succeed in this role.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee the management and retention of a small office staff and 60 drivers to include good morale, high-level of service to our customer, safety, and efficient and profitable utilization of equipment.
- Assist with mentorship and training of new Fleet Managers and drivers.
- Build and develop a strong staff
- Direct P&L responsibility.
- Ensure budget and cost management.
- Define, document, and hold team members accountable to account specific SOP's.
- Oversee and ensure compliance in scheduling of all maintenance and repairs of all company-owned equipment.
- Ensure on-time service to customers.
- Maintain accurate billing and payroll to specific contracted rates and driver wages.
This position will be eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) with a target payout of 10% of base salary.
Work location: Onsite at customer location.
Shift: We offer an amazing opportunity to have 4 days off each week. This leader will work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7am to 7pm or 6am to 6pm. You would also be eligible for additional earnings with shift differential.
