What we are looking for: Field Service Technician

EDUCATION: Associate Degree in Electronic Technology; Military or Industrial equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: 3 to 5 years field service experience in meter instrumentation.

SKILLS: Able to trouble-shoot and repair electronics, electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Must have excellent communication

skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Have a strong understanding of flow measurement technology, hydraulics, process control, pressure, temperature, and density compensation, as well as mass flow technology.

• Self-reliant – good interpersonal skills – leadership qualities.

• Able to lift 50 pounds. Requires 25% travel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The Field Service Technician works in challenging conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, snow, high noise levels, heavy machinery, and hazardous materials. Safety equipment is necessary, and they may need to walk, stand, and climb onto equipment while in the field.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform Start-Ups On Site:

• Inspect installation.

• Test systems function per specifications.

• Repair or replace defective components.

• Train customer personnel in system operation

Resource Maintenance:

• Ensure tool kit is adequately stocked with required tools for daily jobs.

• Participate in scheduled training sessions.

• Ensure that all required documentation is readily available.

Customer Support:

• Provide prompt response to service requests.

• Ensure that all test and repair standards are implemented.

• Promptly refer problems, which cannot be handled by direct action, to the responsible person or department.

Respond To Service Requests:

• Trouble-shoot system malfunctions to isolate cause of defective components.

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance.

• Install measurement systems

• Perform scheduled calibration services.

Reporting:

• Generate and promptly submit service reports for invoicing purposes

• Maintain and submit accurate time records and expense accounting.

• Finding and reporting new service contract leads, and or equipment sales

Provide Internal Support (When In Office):

• Provide in-house training on designated products.

• Design and implement system modifications.

• Participate in development of diagnostic techniques and procedures.

• Provide technical phone support to field service representatives and customers.

• Provide on-site training and assistance to field service representatives.
