Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for leading a team of Schedulers to ensure cost-effective bulk supply at the terminals in the ET network; including management of approximately four (4) million barrels of product to meet all inventory targets for optimum financial results.  Also responsible for working cross functionally with Supply team for daily optimization of the terminal supply options to ensure customer demand is met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage bulk product supply chain
  • Direct responsibilities cover all company’s freight to over 75 bulk storage terminals in all modes of transport; as well as optimizing the supply network overall for more than 200 terminals.
  • Determine and set inventory targets, and manage inventories for approximately four (4) million barrels of products to meet all financial targets and customers’ downstream demand.
  • Leader in analyzing procedures, identifying opportunities, and implementing methods, which optimize handling, storage, and transport resources to reduce supply chain costs which directly impacts P/L.
  • Oversees specialized planning, scheduling, and coordinating functions for the waterborne movement of bulk liquids in direct support of a trading/marketing strategy that require comprehensive waterborne supply chain management knowledge.
  • Prepares and updates logistics budgets and reports performance.
  • Works closely and effectively with internal business partners, external counterparties, and vendors to ensure productive and adaptable working relationships to meet business objectives.
  • Actively manage and coach a staff of product schedulers. 
  • Coaches, motivates and develops employees to achieve company and personal objectives.
  • Develop reportables to potentially move into more Commercial role, Trading or Supply (as appropriate)
  • Creates an atmosphere where employees are empowered to act in accordance with delegated authorities; and held accountable.
  • Responsible for setting commercial negotiation strategy for marine contracts that necessitate unique negotiation strategies.
  • Works closely and effectively with internal business partners and service providers to ensure productive and adaptable working relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with all pipeline companies to meet Sunoco’s logistics needs and break down operational barriers.
  • Participate in terminaling and tank lease negotiation with counterparties.

  • Pipeline scheduling experience.
  • Right Angle or similar ETRM system knowledge or experience.
  • Ability to track expenses and articulate impact to the business P/L.
  • Negotiations experience, including basic contract knowledge.

Education and/or Experience

  • 12 years of industry experience in trading, supply, operations, logistics, finance, marketing, or similar.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Logistics, or related field.
  • Management experience preferred.
