We are looking for a time management pro to oversee the movement and coordination of our Runners and Ship Agents in support of the cruise industry’s in port operational needs. A great dispatcher can communicate effectively relating the priorities of the day and coordination of personnel. This role assigns tasks, updates dispatch data, tracks procurement activities, assigns appropriate vehicles and personnel for freight, medical, airport and other transportation needs. The ideal candidate will enjoy multitasking, clear lines of communication and solving tasks through teamwork and creativity in a fast-paced, quickly evolving environment. This is a full-time seasonal position.
Responsibilities:
- Assign daily transportation and procurement tasks to Runners and Ship Agents
- Communicate and coordinate in real time among staff and vendors the scheduled and updated or unscheduled transportation, delivery and procurement needs of the day.
- Ensure the smooth and adequate flow of information and coordination within the agency and among customers to facilitate responsive marine and agency operations
- Work closely with the Administrative Manager, Logistics Coordinator(s) and the Lead Agent on tasks, changes and evolving needs or challenges of the day for ships we are serving in the Port of Juneau.
- Track and record receipts, use of company accounts and checks used throughout the day.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal communication and team-oriented problem solving
- Excellent and customer friendly written communication
- In-depth understanding of time management and delegation of tasks among team members
- Proficient in MS Office Suite products
- Perform well in stressful situations
- Able to navigate internet web browsers for research as a tool to solve daily information needs (mostly in the area of procurement)
Requirements:
- Be a US citizen or have a valid US work status
- Be able to pass a criminal background check
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Be of at least 18 years of age
Compensation:
- Begins at $17/hr or DOE
- Seasonal Bonus upon successful completion of season
Schedule:
- Seasonal full-time and part-time positions
- Some overtime including weekend days available
Relocation, Housing & Transportation are the responsibility of the employee.

US Citizen or US work authorized.
Must reside in Juneau, Alaska or be able to relocate to Juneau, AK to start working by May 15th, 2024
