With our continued growth, we are looking to add motivated and hardworking Mold Prep employees in our Pulaski Location. This position will handle mold prep for boats with a high-quality level in a highly efficient manner to include marking, sanding, routing, filling, glassing, buffing, spraying, and any other technique required to complete assigned work.
This is a 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 PM. Starting rate of pay is based on experience. Willing to train!
Position summary: Maintain and repair of molds to assure the quality production of fiberglass parts during the lamination process, this includes highly efficient manner with marking, sanding, filling, buffing, spraying, waxing, and any other technique required to complete assigned work.
Principal Duties:
1. Identify imperfections and mark areas
2. Prep areas that need to be repaired by taping/ wrapping appropriately
3. Perform sanding/ grinding of areas that have imperfections with various equipment and varying positions that include squat, crawling, sitting in chair or on mold surface, kneeling. This tasks alternates from sanding to grinding to sanding till issues resolved. Process includes DA sanding, block sanding, and wet sanding
4. Perform buffing of area. (buffer weights from 8-12 #; hand is 15 inches long and 3 ½ inches wide) Hold buffer with bilateral hands, with buffing varying from 30 seconds up to 5 minutes of holding buffer and performing buffing tasks. Varying positions are required to complete task to buff areas from knees to shoulder height.
5. Wipe entire part down with clean clothes. Varying positions are required to complete task from knees to shoulder height
6. Clean mold with PMC chemical and rags till all orange is removed from surfaces. Varying positions are required to complete task from knees to shoulder height
7. Seal mold with paste or wolo sealer. Varying positions are required to complete task from knees to shoulder height
8. Each task could take from 30 minutes to 10-15 hours of work to complete depending on size of mold and amount of repair needed on mold.
9. Apply appropriate wax according to part being waxed and number of coats varies. Varying positions are required to complete task from knees to shoulder height
10. Let mold vent from fumes for 1-2 hours
11. Cover mold with plastic. Varying positions are required to complete task from knees to shoulder height
