Job Summary
Under general supervision of licensed laboratory personnel, the Medical Technician performs a wide variety of patient care support services in the Laboratory. Working as a Laboratory Technician at CruzMedMo is fast-paced and dynamic. You will be working directly with patients, processing tests, recording information and generally maintaining the cleanliness of the work environment. This is a great position for someone who is interested in a career in the medical field and wants hands-on experience. No experience is necessary*. We will train the right person.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures patients have been greeted
- Assist with data collection
- Identifies patients with special needs and provides appropriate assistance
- Performs tests accurately in a timely manner
- Accepts and receives specimens for processing in a timely manner
- Provides clear instructions for other sample collections according to established policies and procedures
- Receives, processes, tracks and sends specimens accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintains Central Processing
- Works with a variety of clinicians
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Contacts clinicians with questions
- Assist office staff with patient registration and collection of payment
- In addition to the key accountabilities listed, employees working in this position are expected to accept and perform other duties as requested.
- Run controls in coordination Lab Director or RN, and perform daily/weekly/monthly lab checks
Qualifications:
- At least one year of customer service or related experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- MA or EMT certification if performing phlebotomy
- Interest in the medical field and in supporting patient care
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Critical thinking and ability to recognize and respond to emergencies are required.

Closing Duties:
- Sweep
- Take out trash/recycling (Tuesday by EOD)
- Check and restock inventory
- Clean/disinfect work surfaces
- Assist in temp logs
Desired Qualifications:
- Current California State Certification as a Phlebotomist OR C Emergency Medical Technician OR Certified Medical Assistant
- 2 years acute care experience (or similar work setting)
- Bilingual Spanish/English
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
- Vital signs: 2 years (Preferred)
Language:

License/Certification:
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
