Position Summary
The Master Scheduler will work from knowledge of the product lines and customer commitments and monitor the existing order backlog and projected output of the plant. This position will determine ship dates for customer orders and generate the appropriate work orders in the ERP system to create a master schedule for the plant. This role is responsible for creating and monitoring the master production schedule that meets customer expectations and company objectives by generating the schedule and associated work orders in our ERP system. The position will work with Engineering to understand all production requirements for R&D and specialty product orders.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- For custom system specialty product orders, work with sales and engineering to understand the complexity of the system and provide a lead time (for quote) or ship date (for order acknowledgement) accordingly.
- Provide input to Supervisor on strategies including timing and quantities for work orders for lower-level sub-assemblies.
- Monitor work orders in progress and identify issues with meeting schedule due dates and reporting these issues to management
- Participate in printing and releasing/distributing work orders and picklists in coordination with the Production Control Supervisor and Manufacturing Manager
- Track engineering revisions, customer-originated changes, and scrap events through the work order process and revise schedule dates or priorities as needed.
- Assist Manufacturing Manager in coordinating what systems and pairings should be tested based upon availability and customer priority.
- Coordinate the sales and manufacturing scheduling/planning efforts
- Participate in production meetings to provide scheduling insights to ensure reasons for delays are communicated as well as ensuring customer expectations are being met.
- Identify and report bottlenecks to senior management
- Coordinate with the Manufacturing Manager and the Production Control Supervisor to plan for and successfully execute and schedule changes needed to expedite shipment dates.
- Communicate with Procurement staff to understand outside supplier lead times and how they might impact ship dates.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand or resource availability
- Interface directly with Production Supervisors to answer questions, check status, or provide other support as directed by Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager.
- Participate in periodic ERP system working meetings and status updates, sharing problems/solutions as well as system knowledge and best practices.
- Coordinate with Production Control Supervisor and engineering to communicate corrections or additions needed to BOMs and routings.
- Work cross functionally with sales, manufacturing, procurement and engineering personnel to ensure alignment throughout departments and that customer needs and company objectives are met.
- Additional duties as assigned
- Associates degree or equivalent, with bachelor's degree preferred; 3 years related experience using computer business systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using ERP and/or MRP software is highly preferred.
