What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mixologist/Bartender position at Crystal Ballroom Charlotte?
The Crystal Ballroom Charlotte is looking for an experienced Bartender/Mixologist for part time/on call positions at our Charlotte location. This position plays a major role in a guest's experience. Consistency is a key element in a positive experience, which is achieved by always following recipes. A bartender must be friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills. A bartender should be organized and able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure with a high end luxury service.
Essential Functions:
- Bartending Services: The event bartender is responsible for setting up and operating the bar area efficiently. This includes organizing the bar station, arranging bottles, glassware, and other necessary equipment, and ensuring that the bar is well-stocked with a variety of spirits, mixers, garnishes, and other ingredients.
- Drink Preparation: Event bartenders must possess excellent knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, as well as various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. They prepare and serve drinks according to guests' orders, paying attention to detail and maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
- Customer Service: Event bartenders interact directly with guests, providing friendly and attentive customer service. They greet guests warmly, engage in conversation, and assist them in choosing drinks based on their preferences. They must also handle inquiries, address concerns, and ensure that guests have a positive experience at the bar.
- Alcohol Awareness: Event bartenders should be knowledgeable about responsible alcohol service practices, including checking identification to verify guests' ages and preventing overconsumption. They must monitor guests' alcohol intake and intervene appropriately if necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of attendees.
- Cleanliness and Maintenance: Keeping the bar area clean and organized is essential. Event bartenders are responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the event, including regularly wiping down surfaces, washing glassware, and disposing of empty bottles and trash. They also restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Teamwork: In larger events, event bartenders often work as part of a team alongside other bartenders, servers, and event staff. They collaborate effectively with their colleagues to provide seamless service, communicate orders and requests, and assist each other as needed to ensure the success of the event.
- Problem Solving: Event bartenders must be adaptable and resourceful, capable of handling unexpected situations and resolving issues that may arise during the event. Whether it's a sudden rush at the bar, a spilled drink, or a guest request, they should be able to think quickly on their feet and find solutions to keep the event running smoothly.
Work Environment
This job operates behind the bar and may be working in close proximity to co-workers. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping and tripping.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
2 years Bartending Experience (high end service preferred)

Pay: $300.00 - $450.00 per day
