Wage Range: $150,000 - $200,000 Annually – base compensation

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the daily operation of the Company’s accounting, financial, and audit functions. Provides significant contributions to the formulation, implementation, and administration of corporate-wide policies and key business initiatives. Oversees accounting and financial analyses, preparation and compilation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts. Establishes and maintains internal accounting controls. Oversees preparation and submission of state tax forms, payments, and other industry regulatory reports. Ensures the effectiveness and appropriateness of business systems utilized. Manages the capital budgeting process and coordinates financing needs with corporate headquarters as needed. Ensures that appropriate systems and controls are in place to manage capital projects within approved budgets. Plays a key role in identifying operational improvements and oversees resulting plans of action. Directs the activities of subordinate directors/managers and ensures that all subordinate areas of responsibility support Company policies, programs, and goals.
Note: Hybrid office/remote schedule is available, but a strong preference will be given to candidates able to commit to working at the resort two or more days a week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of financial, accounting, and business strategic planning.
- Assumes responsibility for developing, recommending, and implementing such internal accounting and financial controls, and programs as are necessary to preserve and expand corporate assets.
- Responsible for the effective maintenance and reporting of financial records.
- Effectively supervises assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance.
- Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of area functions.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective business relations with Alterra Corporate, vendors, outside auditors, and regulators, and with those from professional trade and civic groups.
- Responsibility for leveraging operational assets to maximize profitability.
- Special projects and other duties as needed.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree with major or minor in accounting.
- Licensed CPA (active or inactive), preferred.
- 5 years of public accounting and private industry experience, preferred.
- Strong analytical skills combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent PC skills (MS Office) required and experience with POS and G/L accounting systems.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and grow as business needs change.
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment.
- Background in ski resort or hospitality industry, preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
- Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices, and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
- The ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.

Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
