Job Summary
The Crystal Mountain Lifeguard responsibilities include ensuring the well-being of our guests, keeping pool areas clean, answering guest questions, enforcing the policies, rules and regulations at the Park at Waters Edge.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Uphold and support recreation expectations including Great Service, Quality Programming and Safe Recreation.
Assist department in minimizing liability and risk.
Follow activity standard operation procedures (SOPs) and uphold facilitation standards outlined in training.
Communicate, promote, sell, and encourage all on and off site program participation.
Lifeguard the 4200 square foot pool at the Park at Water’s Edge to include lap lanes, play structures & whirlpool.
Ensure guest safety and have the potential to be a first responder in an emergency situation.
Recognize and respond effectively in emergency situations
Enforce policies, rules and regulations at the Park at Water’s Edge.
Maintain 10/20 surveillance at all times.
Complete regular in-service trainings.
Complete On-Deck SOP, cleaning, projects, and announcements.
Perform daily operations and cleaning maintenance of pool area.
Clear pool deck of used towels, lifejackets, and trash. Bag used towels as needed. Sign out life jackets from the Park window.
Facilitate and staff private pool parties, events, and programs.
Interact and provide a safe, fun environment at all times.
Work special events and other programming as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
Competencies:
Previous lifeguard experience is preferred, but not required.
CPR/First Aid Certifications and Lifeguard Certification required/provided.
Must be able to complete a preliminary swim test.
Excellent guest service.
Clear and concise verbal communication skills.
Must possess a high level of concentration, self-motivation, the ability to multi-task and the drive to have fun.
Previous experience working with children a plus.
Must have the ability to work independently.
Dependable and meets goals.
Exemplifies professional conduct and adherence to company Core Values.
Education:
Currently enrolled in high school, high school diploma, or equivalent.
Combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.
Physical & Other Requirements:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in varying weather conditions.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Minimum 16 years old.
Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
Non-smoking candidates preferred.
