Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Monitor construction activities.
- Inspect the construction activities.
- Monitor the installation of Mechanical equipment.
- Review and monitor the safety and quality implementation throughout the site.
- Attend pre-construction meetings to review the scope of special inspections and testing.
- Notify the Contractor's personnel of the Special Inspection Agency's presence and responsibilities at the jobsite.
- Test and/or inspect the work assigned for conformance with approved design drawings, specifications and applicable material and workmanship provisions of the Code. Perform testing and inspection in a timely manner to avoid delay of work.
- Bring discrepancies to the immediate attention of the Contractor for correction and the client.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering college or university.
- Minimum of three (3) years of construction inspection experience.
- NICET Level III required.
- OSHA-30 required.
- Have full knowledge and familiarity with associated Contract Documents.
- Familiarity with construction applicable codes and standards.
- Ability to communicate with colleagues and clients of all levels.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to provide inspection reports in a timely manner.
- Works well with a team and individually.
- Must be able to read and understand plans and specifications.
- Keep up to date on a daily basis, all current projects via project managers and other inspectors. Communicate effectively with the client and project team.
