We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of Quality Engineer 1

Role and Responsibilities

• Performs complex tasks to develop, apply and maintain quality requirements of products during design through manufacturing
• Performs statistical analysis of processes, through the use of trend charts, control charts, Pareto diagrams, and fish bone diagrams for application in continuous improvement efforts
• Performs reject analysis and reject verification to provide feedback to Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering for the purpose of process improvement, and to Engineering for the purpose of design improvement. Provides special testing, process capability studies, repeatability studies and equipment correlations as required
• Assists with the preparation of instructions and procedures for use by inspections, Manufacturing, and Customer support personnel for use in inspecting products for mechanical and aesthetic criteria, and for use in training
• Works on New Product Project teams to provide for smooth transition of New Products into the regular manufacturing process
• Consults with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Marketing to initiate product improvements
• Assists with continuous improvement activities. This includes quality, productivity and effectiveness improvement in manufacturing, as well as non-manufacturing areas
• Performs individual assignments as assigned, establish and maintain effective work relationships within the departments, the corporation and the community
• Participates in the company’s quality program and compliance of ISO 9001
• Facilitates material review board
• Recommends process and/or design improvements including: developing and maintaining new failure analysis methods, corrective actions suggestions, material and component analysis and suggestions of change
• Assists as directed in meeting department goals and objectives as established by the Quality department Manager or director
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Skills, Education and Training

• BS Degree in Electrical, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent
• 0-2 years of demonstrated success in a similar position; including failure analysis within a electronics manufacturing environment or quality control inspection environment
• Excellent data management skills: MS office with Recent advanced use of Excel, Minitab and MS Access
• working knowledge of statistical process control and experimental design concepts
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
• Capability of handling multiple projects at one time
• strong written and verbal communication skills (English) to effectively extract, analyze and report data (all levels of personnel including customer and vendor)
• Excellent knowledge of tools and methods related to inspection and analysis of component and assembled parts of both mechanical and electrical products (prefer computer environment)
• Proven experience in successful problem solving
• Ability to work well in a fast paced environment with little or no supervision; may be provided guidance by senior engineer personnel or manager
