WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
The CSM Live team in Charlotte, NC is searching for a creative, organized, and experienced Mechanical Designer for our Fabrication department. The designer needs to be creative, well versed in manufacturing processes and materials used in Fabrication from concept to a finished working product.
This role will report Director, Fabrication Business Operations and Design CSM Live
Responsibilities:
Fabrication Design:
- Design and model project based off scope
- Partner with fabrication manager and project manager to determine scope of fabrication deliverables, design, materials, timelines and budgets
- Work with the team to ensure client requests are met
- Collaborate with the creative department to execute designs and build consistent communication between departments
- Design using CAD or equivalent (Fusion360) drawing program to enhance build time, material savings and accuracy
- Create design packets and schedules to track projects through completion
Fabrication Operation:
- Partner with fabrication management team to create timelines and estimates for all projects
- Conduct research to obtain the best price and quality within the budget for the procurement of materials
- Provide ongoing updates to the design process and applicable software
- Stay abreast of new technology for all aspects of design and advise on best practices
- Actively participate and contribute to fabrication related meetings
- Assist with inspecting projects throughout the fabrication process. Conduct a final quality check to ensure quality and accuracy
- Communicate regularly to ensure all parties are kept abreast of project details including any changes to the initial project
- Follow and communicate department policies and procedures
- Other duties assigned by manager: Meetings, Project Management Software (ClickUP)
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED
- Bachelor's degree in relative field or equivalent work experience
- 5-8 years of experience with Fabrication, Design, and relative software (CAD/Fusion360)
- Skilled in project management, critical and creative thinking, and relationship management with clients, vendors, project managers, internal staff, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to be highly adaptable and agile in a fast-paced environment.
- Manufacturing environment experience.
- Knowledge of Business Operations, Supply Chain Management and Material is a plus.
