The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of Radiology is seeking a Imaging Technologist for CT to perform and teach specialized CT procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform and teach specialized imaging procedures utilizing CT imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam. This includes independent operation with minimal physician supervision.
- Perform CT procedures using a variety of complex imaging and patient monitoring equipment.
- Has knowledge of and applies CT safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel and equipment.
- Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles for interaction with patients and staff.
- Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient.
- Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.

Schedule: Monday-Friday; 15:00-23:30 pm
Rotations: rotating holidays, weekends and on call responsibilities.

Position Qualifications:
Education Required
- Successful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required.
Experience Requirements
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Certifications
- Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
- Current Permit to Practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment is required.
Desirable Qualifications
- Recent work or clinical education experience in CT.
- CT modality training.
- CT certification or eligible.
- Work or clinical education experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center
