We are looking for individuals who are able to work 4.5 days per week with one Saturday (8a-12p) per month. Pay starts at$16.50. Key Areas of Responsibility Medical Assistants will practice within the Connecticut State laws governing medical assistants. Those laws presently state: Medical assistants may gather patient data, record data in EMR, and share that information with the provider they are assisting. Medical Assistants may set up equipment for procedures to be performed by licensed practitioners. • They may set up surgical trays • They may prep patient for the application of Levulon, providers to apply Levulon. • They may prepare patient under blue light, providers to activate light. • They may prepare patients skin for numbing cream to be applied, providers place cream. • They may cleanse the skin prior to surgery. • They may assist patient in to the light box for phototherapy, providers to set parameters and start treatment. • They may prepare patient for Cool Sculpting, provider is to activate machines. • They may prepare patient for laser services, putting protective eyewear, cleansing face for provider to operate laser. • Medical assistants may call patient to relay a message from the provider. • Medical assistants may send medications ordered by provider to patient’s pharmacy. • Medical assistants may apply pressure during surgery. • Medical assistants can properly care for all equipment used to practice dermatology. Medical Assistants may not perform the following: • They may not deliver any type of medication which includes topical, and oxygen • They may not mix, buffer, draw up, or inject any medications. • They may not be involved with X-ray procedures: SRT outside of photographing and charting during Simulation • They may not counsel patient regarding plan of care, other than what provider has instructed. • They may not assess a patient. • They may not interpret lab or results of any test. • They may not administer patch
