Summary
CTC Group is seeking a Linux System Administrator, Level 2, to provide hands-on IT assignments requiring technical expertise to implement systems administration strategies to support the project's technology functions.
Responsibilities
- Ensure systems are kept in the required configuration profile, including patch maintenance and changes as required by the evolution of production environments using automated systems.
- Write scripts to automate administrative functions and provide a more consistent workflow for the program.
- Participates in interface definition, design, and changes to the configuration between affected groups and individuals throughout the life cycle.
- Work closely with product teams to define product features and integration solutions
- Help define security needs to include Secure the Enterprise
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and architecture Tier 3 tickets and perform ongoing system maintenance
- Perform software infrastructure upgrades, IAVA Patches, continual system QA, and CM
- Respond to internal trouble ticket system requests to repair systems that are not responding correctly. Document repair in the ticketing system and, if appropriate, publish in the solutions database. Communicate issues and timeframes for issue resolution to the customer.
- Providing after-hours call-in support, including reporting to work after hours to resolve system problems.
- Helps to build and maintain documentation for production and development systems and training other SEs/SAs.
- Collaborate with Tier 1 and 2 organizations to refine processes, define support roles, and provide training.
Skill Requirements
The preferred candidate has strong system administration skills as well as a systems engineer background:
- Thorough understanding of LINUX (Red Hat/CentOS 7 or greater)
- Experience writing software scripts using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby for software automation
- Experience planning and implementing storage and network solutions for complex, high-performance systems composed of LINUX-based hardware platforms
- Moderate understanding of virtualization (e.g., VMware, KVM, Citrix)
- Experience implementing STE/STN tools
- Demonstrated ability to design, and document interfaces, standards, dataflows, and scenarios for distributed cloud environments
- Participates in interface definition, design, and changes to the configuration between affected groups and individuals throughout the life cycle.
- Experience developing system requirements, functional requirements, deriving development requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s)
- Defines the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems, and work products are verified against their requirements in a written plan.
- Experience building and maintaining documentation for production and development systems
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Fourteen (14) years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
Certification Requirements
- Must have one of the following certifications to meet CWIP (Cyber Workforce Improvement Program) IAT Level 2 requirements:
- CCNA Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, CND, SSCP
