CTG is seeking to fill aJava Developeropening for our client based in Buffalo, NY.
Location:Remote
Duration:8 months, with potential for extension or hire
Pay Rate:Based on experience
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the development, integration, and maintenance of internal and consumer-facing applications.
Essential Functions:
- Design and implementation of applications for both internal and consumer-facing platforms.
- Collaborates with team members, provides work estimates and reports project status using agile development principles.
- Writes and executes unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and correctness.
- Ensures that delivered solutions meet stated functional and business requirements.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Required Experience:
- Solid understanding of Object-oriented principles and design patterns
- Strong Java and Spring Framework experience
- Experience with implementing RESTful Web Services, both client (Spring RestTemplate) and server side (Spring MVC, Jackson)
- Experience with modern Javascript and web frameworks (AngularJS, Bootstrap, etc.)
- Experience working with distributed version control systems (Mercurial or Git)
- Relational data modeling (SQL, Spring JdbcTemplate)
- Maven build tool experience
- Linux proficiency
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with dynamic PowerPoint generation using template files or Apache POI
- Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and modern web client frameworks/tools (Angular, Bootstrap, etc.)
- Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, XP)
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group is required.
