CTG is assisting a client for a Remote Software Asset Manager!
Pay Rate: based on experience
Duration: 6 months
The ideal candidate will have experience with regards to software asset management and managing software portfolios. Emphasis within the Software Management Framework in the below areas are essential:
• Software Acquisition
• Software Deployment
• License Management
• Asset Discovery and Tracking
• Understanding Vendor Usage
• Understanding risk and risk management
• Strong Oracle Licensing background
• Strong Microsoft Licensing Background including processing annual orders.
Responsibilities
• Accountable for compliance with contractual and licensing models for select software products
• Accountable for software management activities (demand management, renewals, entitlement and deployment reporting)
• Identify issues, improvement opportunities, and risks for escalation
• Identify key data requirements and information throughout the organization
• Coordinates with other stakeholders to resolve complex licensing queries and issues
• Manages software supplier relationship with vendor in partnership with GP Sourcing Relationship Manager
• Sets negotiations and contracting path and plan for select XDX Strategic software suppliers in partnership with XDX Operations, Finance, and GP team.
• Partners with GP in the execution of negotiations and contracting for select XDX Strategic software suppliers
• Deep understanding of licensing models, contracts, and pricing arrangements
• Optimizes consumption to maximize value of spend
• Manages vendor audits and support supplier interactions
• Manage renewals / new contracts and upcoming software demand
• Deep understanding of financials and pricing model. Partner with Operations, Finance, and GP in the review and execution of financial activities (purchase orders, invoice approval, usage reporting)
• Report on compliance with contractual and licensing models for assigned software products
Required Skills
• Bachelor’s in computer science or Information Technology related field
• Strong technical and business problem-solving skills
• Strong analytical skills, self-motivated
• Strong financial acumen
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand standard licensing/contractual terms
• Experience in negotiation and contracting.
• Experience in formally managing vendor relationships
• Project Management skills (incl risk, issue management)
• Ability to work independently and make decisions
• Ability to work with external suppliers and internal Global Procurement resources
• Ability to work within an integrated environment and resolve difficult issues with license holders (Business, IM focal points, etc.)
• Cloud consumption reporting
• Ability to prioritize workload and adjust as business needs change
• Ability to work within a fast-paced team
• Process oriented and extensive process improvement expertise (Lean Six Sigma – Green Belt Certification)
• Ability to perform and review data analysis via excel using pivot tables, at a minimum
• Experience in preparing and delivering senior management briefing.
• Good communication and presentation skills
• General understanding of Software Asset Management lifecycle processes
• Broad understanding of software management overall processes, maintenance of data, and controls
• Strong Oracle Licensing background
• Strong Microsoft Licensing Background including processing annual orders.
Preferred Skills
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Lean Six Sigma – Black Belt Certification
• Data query (SQL) capabilities against internal data systems (Microsoft, etc.)
• Awareness of License Management systems along with ability to learn new toolsets
• SAM Tool experience – (Eracent preferred)
