Job description

Summary/Objective

For this role, activities are aimed at reducing the clients debilitating mental illness symptoms, assisting in everyday functioning and help achieve living skills-sets necessary for independent living. Knowledge of the treatment needs of people who are impacted by mental illness is a necessity.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The following functions shall be performed, if and only if, a client’s treatment plan determines the functions necessary

  • Ensure the completion of Daily Encounter Notes
  • Teach and Assist Client with Activities of Daily Living Skills to maintain a clean and orderly environment
  • Engage with the Clients Treatment Plan
  • Ensure the safety of the client in their homes through proper observation of their homes, including being aware of potential treatment issues
  • Engage Clients in their treatment including utilizing available community resources
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative, professional relationships with clients, other staff and community supports
  • Must be able to work independently and responsibly.
  • This position does not have any supervisory duties

Work Environment

This job operates in the community, specifically in client’s homes.

Travel

Travel may be required throughout the Clients surrounding area.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk and hear. The employee may occasionally have to lift or move clients to ensure health and well-being of client.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

2-3 days/week to start, 4 hours/day. Prefers afternoons.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Degree
